University collections as guests in Berlin
The 16th Annual Conference for Scientific University Collections 2025 is jointly organized by the partners of the Berlin University Alliance and the Gesellschaft für Universitätssammlungen e.V. (GfU).
It will take place from October 09-11, 2025 in Berlin.
„Unbekannte Gesichter“ – Exhibition on the Alban Collection
From July 15, 2025
in the campus library (Fabeckstraße 23/25, 14195 Berlin, entrance on L-Straße in the Silberlaube).
Egyptology students at the FU have processed a donation of (ancient) Egyptian objects from the Alban family. This was done as part of the course Research History and Exhibition Practice using the Alban Collection as an example. The exhibition now on display shows selected objects in terms of their history and sheds light on the unknown faces behind them.
NEW - Bioethics toolbox for dealing with human remains in teaching collections
In its bioethics toolbox the Institute of Biology at FU Berlin provides information on handling human remains in university collections: “What should I do if I find human remains at university or school? Where could they come from? Can they be used in teaching?”
