HU's Institut für Musikwissenschaft und Medienwissenschaft has an extensive collection of  relevant apparatuses and instruments from various eras. The media archaeology collection (Medienarchäologischer Fundus) was built up by former director Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Ernst and is curated by Prof. Dr. Shintaro Miyazaki.

There is already analog and digital documentation available for the collection's objects: a "Katalogos" (PDF, 2 MB) and an inventory in wiki format.

The aim of our project is to compare, merge and supplement this data. Till Roemer systematically examined the inventory and researched missing information, as part of a contract for work.

Until the Humboldt-Universität has a dedicated system for collection documentation, digital copies and metadata from this collection will be stored in a "data hotel" provided by the Digital Network for Collections.

Objects from the Medienarchäologischer Fundus will soon be searchable via this collection platform.
