This Instagram series brings the past and present into dialogue. The detailed plant illustrations from the historic Weigand Flora encounter their living counterparts at HU Berlin’s Späth Arboretum. This interplay between nineteenth-century colored plant illustrations and current photographs of the Späth Arboretum vividly demonstrates how artistic vision and botanical research captured the plant world nearly 200 years ago, and how these species present themselves today within the rhythm of the seasons.
